Database Set Note:
The Database note feature is set in
the application manager under Database Set Note. This is a freeform text
field that can contain over 300 characters. This field could be used
for multiple purposes. When you are creating cubes for one time proof
of concept or testing, you can immediately jot down some notes about when the
cube was built, why it was built, and it's purpose. Another use, could be
to inform users as to the status of the cube, ie. when the cube was last
updated. This Database Note field is viewable by end uers from Excel.
When a user chooses Essbase Connect, from Excel, a button is visible that will
display the note for the active database.
While setting this by hand in
application manager might be all you need to do, there is the ability to set
this from Esscommand and Maxl.
